LOCHGELLY South Primary are heading to Aberdeen next month for the Rotary District 1010 Primary School Quiz final.
The South emerged as winners of the Fife Area final held on Wednesday at Dalgety Bay.
The South team, who won a thrilling heat of the competition held by Cowdenbeath Rotary Club in March by one point, led from the start on Wednesday but Cairneyhill stayed with them throughout and the High Street school held their nerve in the closing rounds to again win by the narrowest of margins, the same as they overcame Foulford by in the local heat held at Lochgelly Centre.
The winning team was Josh Duncan, Rocco Leslie and Jay Rutherford and their teacher, Lee Steel said: “Another very exciting end to the competition but the team did brilliantly and now we can look forward to the final in Aberdeen on May 18.”
The District Final is at Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen, Saturday starting around 12.30pm.
