THE 4th Cardenden Scouts are continuing their battle to survive after the crippling fire of earlier in the year and are starting to replace items lost.

Their hall in Cardenden Road was severely damaged by the Monday night outbreak in February but also they lost all their equipment.

However, the group has been working hard to raise funds and treasurer Rosemary Wallace reported this week: "The total now stands at £7,466.

"We would like to thank the following people for donating this week-Glenrothes Scout Shop, 1st Carnoustie Scout Group, Monifieth Scout Group.

T.Carruthers, and L. Seymour.

"Also a sponsored abseil is being held this coming weekend. We would say thank-you to all the people who have donated on the Abseil Just Giving Page whose total now stands at £340, almost at Dana and Fay's £400 target".

Rosemary added: "Everyone's generosity has meant we have been able to order a replacement flag ready for St George's Day and have placed orders for new tents and camping equipment. We will put up photos once these arrive ready for the Summer Camps."
