A MAN has been fined after going into a shop in Cardenden and hurling racist abuse at an Indian couple.

John Campbell became irate at the driving of a woman and followed her to the store she runs with her husband.

He then went into the shop and started verbally abusing the woman’s husband, calling him a “black b******”.

Unemployed Campbell, 44, of West Greenhead Cottages, Cluny, was found guilty after a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court in January.

The charge was that on February 26, at Costcutters, Cardenden Road, Cardenden, he acted in a racially aggravated manner to the couple by shouting, swearing, making threats of violence and racial remarks.

Sheriff James MacDonald had deferred sentence for three months for Campbell to be of good behaviour.

When he returned to Court Campbell was fined £200.
