THE Drop-in cafe run at Auchterderran Church Hall by a hard working team of volunteers, were surprised and delighted to receive a donation from one of the local children who regularly helps out at the Cafe when he is not at school.

The Drop In Cafe, which has successfully been running at the church hall now for over a year, received a very kind and generous donation of £50 from young Malcolm, who attends when he can.

Said Jacqui Lawrie: "The money was donated from Malcolm's Christmas and Easter money and will be put towards the purchase of a new soup kettle. Everyone thanks Malcolm warmly for his support."

Malcolm is pictured presenting the money to some of the volunteers on Tuesday, from left to right Alec, Margaret, Finlay, Malcolm, Tony and Rosemary.

The Drop-in has proved a highly successful initiative at the Auchterderran Church Hall with over 40 people going along each week to enjoy soup, coffee tea sandwiches and home baking and also the opportunity to get advice on a host of matters whether it be housing issues or welfare information, indeed anything anyone needs advice on efforts will be made to get it.
