THE RotaKids Club at Cardenden Primary School is aiming to put into action a number of their initiatives this summer term.

The club was set up in the spring term and before the Easter holidays the officials were elected.

These were, President - Amy P6; Vice President - Callum P7; Secretary - Ebony P6; Treasurer - Ellie P7.

The club was launched at Cardenden Primary through teacher Louise Chapman's feeling that youngsters from the school could benefit from coming up with ideas to benefit their community.

Designed by the Rotary movement, RotaKids is a fun and exciting way for children aged 7-12 to make friends and get involved with important activities in the community, all while having a great time in the process and when Louise contacted Cowdenbeath Rotary Club to see if they could help her establish such a group it did not take long to get things moving.

RotaKids clubs are based in schools, youth groups or community centres, and with the help and support from teachers, youth leaders and the local Rotary club, children can gain a valuable experience in helping others and learning interesting, new things.

Said Louise: "They all want to help their local community and cannot wait to get started."
