A COWDENBEATH shoplifter struck at three local stores during a two-week period.
Steven Haldane, 31, of Broad Street, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted the thefts from shops in Cowdenbeath.
On March 13, at Aldi, Stenhouse Street, he stole food.
On March 25, at Morrisons, Raith Centre, he stole alcohol and food.
On March 28, at Co-op, Dunbeath Crescent, he stole a quantity of coffee.
The value of the goods stolen was £5.45, £139 and £20, the court heard.
Defence solicitor David Bell said his client was already on community payment orders which were “not going well”.
“He has returned to abusing illicit substances and he stole to pay this addiction,” he added.
Sheriff Pino di Emidio called for reports and Haldane will be sentenced on May 1. Bail was granted with curfew conditions.
