A LOCHGELLY teenager was jailed for five years at the High Court in Glasgow, yesterday, for raiding a Cowdenbeath petrol station and putting a lit firework through a letterbox.
Jack Bonnar, 19, admitted at the Court wilful fireraising at a house in Timmons Park, Lochgelly, on November 6 2017, and placed the firework through the letter box.
The fire which resulted caused serious damage.
Then on February 1 last year he admitted going to the Beath Service Station, High Street, Cowdenbeath, and armed with a nine inch knife and demanded cash and cigarettes.
He made of with £500 in cash and a quantity of cigarettes.
In addition Bonnar admitted breaching a curfew order in relation to previous offences.
The Court was told that the fire in relation to the lit firework offence caused damage in excess of £43,000.
Lord Arthurson sentenced Bonnar to five years and eight months detension backdated to September 10 last year when he was remanded in custody.
