A WEIGHT WATCHERS coach from Dunfermline was hoping to gain pounds instead of losing them as she took part in BBC's Bargain Hunt.

Heather Pownall zipped up the famous blue fleece with fellow coach Elaine Jones for two days of bargain-hunting for the new series of the BBC daytime programme.

Heather said: "It was so fantastic to be involved. It was all Elaine’s doing as she put the application in for us in the first place and asked me to be her Bargain Hunt buddy which I was happy to be.

"I am not sure if we are experts on antiques as we are more experts on losing pounds than gaining them but we did our best and learned a lot in the process!

"The whole team, from the crew, presenter, experts and contestants, were all so lovely. Everyone spoke to everyone and was genuinely interested in each other.

"It was a fabulous experience."

Heather and Elaine run workshops in Fife and Perth & Kinross, and were delighted to fly the Weight Watchers flag.

They spent one day at Ingliston before a full day at Roswell for the auction.

Elaine added: "We had the most amazing experience filming over two days at the antiques fayre and then for auction day. The crew and team were so lovely to work with and made us feel right at home. It was just so much fun and as I am such a fan of the show, I just loved every minute of it."

Will Elaine and Heather be triumphant with their bargain choices? Did they walk away with the money in their pocket and the golden gavel? You will have to wait until later this year when the episode is aired in the Autumn.
