THE Ariana Experience event geared to selecting the town's royal party for Cowdenbeath Civic Week 2019 has been cancelled.

However, the draw will be held to select the Regal team for this year's gala day at a special event to be held on Saturday March 30.

Civic Week Committee secretary, Claire Morgan confirmed the new arrangements: "Due to low ticket sales we have had to take the tough decision to cancel the Ariana Grande tribute concert planned for Sunday coming.

"Anyone who bought tickets should return them to the shop they bought them from in order to get their refund".

Added Claire: "We will, however, be holding a family fun day on Saturday March 30 at Beath High School from 2 to 4pm with entertainment from Mohawk. Entry is free.

"The Civic Week Royal Party draw for 2019 will also take place at this".
