PUPILS from Cardenden Primary School showed excellent talents in the Burns competition held by the Bowhill People's Club.

Three pupils from Cardenden PS all took First Place in their category at the local village Burns competition held in the Masonic Hall.

Elizabeth Fleming, aged 8, recited a very dramatic version of My Hoggie, to impress the judges.

Meanwhile Isobel Akhtar Dobson, aged 11, recited the very long and technical To A Moose; and Heaven-Leigh Johnston, also aged 11, sang Ae Fond Kiss with such beauty.

The entries from all three local primary school’s, were so talented and standards very high making it a tough competition.

The pupils have made Acting Headteacher, Mrs Shiels, and the rest of Cardenden Primary School, extremely proud and Mrs Shiels said: "Well done girls!"
