MSP Alex Rowley has highlighted the ‘amazing work’ of Maggie’s in supporting individuals and their families when diagnosed with Cancer.
Maggie's facility at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, provides a lot of vital support to families from the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly who have a member suffering from cancer.
Mr Rowley met with representatives of Maggie’s Centres in the Scottish Parliament to learn more about their work providing practical advice for anyone affected by cancer whether that’s about benefits and eating well; emotional support from qualified experts; places to meet other people or where you can simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.
The Labour MSP for Mid Scotland Fife, said: “Maggie’s has dedicated staff and volunteers who are there to give advice and support for anyone diagnosed with cancer.
"These are important services and I know they are valued by so many people. The amount of fundraising to support these service by local people is just amazing and I want to thank everyone who gives up their time for such an important support service in our communities”.
