COWDENBEATH After School Club has this week celebrated it's 20th Birthday - and is busier than ever!
Twenty years ago Isobel Scott started the club with the support of Mick Hyde from Fife Council and a Volunteer committee, made up of Linda Martin, Wilma Kirkland and Audrey Keith.
Ruth Cowie from the Care Inspectorate also made sure that the club was registered in time for its opening on March 1 1999.
Isobel has continued to play a large part in club, taking on various roles over the years and has tried to retire many times - but she has always been persuaded to stay!
Said the Fiona Merrilees, of the club, which had its base at Lumphinnans Community School: "Isobel has supported the various volunteer committee members over the years, passing on her expansive knowledge and the staff have always valued and respected her advice".
The staff and committee presented her with some flowers to mark the occasion and the children all joined in to show their appreciation. Here's to the next 20 years!
