THE Foulford Fitness Fun project is shaping up to be a magnificent success.

Foulford Fitness Fun was the name chosen for the project to apply for funding with Tesco and thanks to the Superstore group they received £4,000.

It all meant that the Foulford Primary School's pupils finally have the trim trail that they have been waiting for.

After months of planning and fundraising, as well as competing with wintry conditions, the trim trail was opened by Rory in P4/5, with Mandy Raine, the Tesco Duloch Community Champion.

Said the school's depute head (P4-P7) Jackie Niven: "When the children had asked for a trim trail to be added to the playground, they knew it would cost a lot of money.

"Rory came up with the idea to have a live band play at the school fayre last Spring as a fundraiser.

"Then Foulford entered the "Bags of Help" scheme with Tesco and were very pleased to have come first with the largest amount of tokens for our project and received a cheque towards our fund.

"Further funding from ExxonMobil has allowed our trim trail project to go ahead. The trim trail has been a great success and the children are enjoying playing on it on a daily basis and improving their fitness while having fun!"

The opening day was an exciting event for the Cowdenbeath school's pupils and the P 4/5 class then spent the afternoon preparing fruit smoothies with Mandy as part of their Health and Well being lessons.
