JORDAN Stewart had a birthday to remember on Thursday in Cowdenbeath.

Jordan has loved all transport since a very young age, although trains and buses have always been his favourite.

So when he got the chance to visit the Rennie's depot, in Broad Street, to celebrate his 14th birthday he was over the moon.

His mum Vicky said: "Jordan has autism and pathological demand avoidance (PDA) which can bring many challenges to him.

"Having a focus also helps and his love of buses is a fantastic way to keep him busy. He had been really struggling of late with anxiety so we knew we had to make his birthday extra special.

"Being able to hire the bus was amazing. It allowed Jordan to feel in control. This then kept anxiety at bay allowing him to have an amazing birthday without worrying about different things, how busy the bus would be, will the bus be on time, etc.

"What made it extra special as it was Jordan’s bus".

Jordan was guest of Rennie's in Cowdenbeath and had a great time looking at the fleet of buses that the company houses at the garage and speaking to the drivers.

Then he was off to Leuchars in Jordan's Bus to see the fly-past by Tornado jets as part of the aircraft's retiral from service celebrations and then on to St Andrews to visit the historic town.

Apart from being a bus and train fan, Jordan is also keen on photography and he took his camera with him to capture everything he was seeing. It truly was an amazing day for him.

Rennie's sales and Marketing Executive at the Broad Street garage, Yvonne Hannah said: "It really was a marvellous day, our drivers and staff loved helping Jordan have a special birthday".

Vicky was so delighted with the support that Rennie's staff gave to Jordan: "They didn’t just provide the bus to hire, they did so much more than the can realise and I will be forever grateful for that.

"Jordan also loves to photograph and record all his favourite buses and trains! His photos are fantastic and he really puts a lot of effort into capturing the perfect photograph.

"He is currently saving for a new camera and video recorder which cost together over £1,500.

"He has set up a just giving page to raise the last £300. He has saved all his Christmas and birthday money he has had over the last year, so his dream is getting closer."

Jordan was over the moon with his experiences thanks to Rennie's in Cowdenbeath. He is pictured with mum and dad, Brian and Vicky and with Jamie Darling, Operations Supervisor at the Broad Street, Depot.
