THANKS to the efforts of pupils at two of the town's primary schools Cowdenbeath Civic Week Committee got a welcome boost on Thursday.
Cowdenbeath Primary kids raised £116 from their dress down day and sale of teas and coffees which was an event well supported, and their Foulford counterparts raised £105 from their Christmas jumper/dress down day.
Said Civic Week Committee secretary Claire Morgan: We're always extremely grateful for support received from the community and the pupils of both schools were superstars
"Our crazy gala chicken was out and about on Thursday visiting Cowdenbeath PS and Foulford PS to say a BIG official thank-you to all the children and staff for raising money which will go towards Cowdenbeath Children's Gala this summer!"
These donations follow the Looney Dook on New Year's day which saw upwards of £4,000 raised for Gala Day.
The Civic Week Committee's fundraising is an around the year process to back Gala Day and the other events they organise throughout each year.
