WITH our centre pages spread looking at success of the Lochore Meadows Country Park in 2018 we have taken the opportunity through Ballingry man Bill Hunter to look at the park being created.

Bill has some amazing pictures of the time when the bings were being removed at the Meedies and these ones we are delighted to publish show the immense size of the mounds of pit waste.

One of them shows the one of the giant earth removing and regrading machines perched on top of a bing. As they say, a long way down!

The other pictures show the work making progress with several of the giant mounds removed and work taking place to level the ground which was then covered with thousands of tons of soil before planting out with seed to help create the facility we see today.

If you have any old photographs you would like to see in our Down Memory Lane feature send them to editorial@centralfietimes.co.uk or take them to the Times Office, 17 Bank Street, Lochgelly, on a Monday or a Friday.
