THE three local MPs all voted in favour of the Labour Party's Vote of No Confidence in the Government last night but with her disenchanted MPs back in line and the support of the DUP, Premier Theresa May comfortably won to stay in power.

The Conservative Government won by 325 votes to 306 to take the Brexit saga to the next stage.

Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath MP, Lesley Laird; Dunfermline and West Fife's Douglas Chapman, who represents Crossgates, Hill of Beath and Moss-side; and Peter Grant of Glenrothes, who represents Cardenden and Kinglassie, all voted to bring the Government down.

The success of Mrs May now means that she has three Parliamentary days to come up with fresh ideas to get a Brexit deal agreed.

With around ten weeks left to go before the UK leaves the European Union time is starting to run out and it is believed the PM has held talks with the other parties at Westminster to examine how this could be achieved.

She will be hoping that this produces some results over the next 48 hours with the EU stating last night that they were awaiting an approach from the UK Government.

All three local MPs will be taking part in the next stage of the Brexit saga in Parliament on Monday.
