COWDENBEATH Community Police team have aired their concerns over weekend incidents of fires being lit at Lochgelly Public Park by youngsters.
In a bid to tackle the issue the team have mounted regular patrols to try and stop what they describe as a 'potentially life threatening' activity.
On their Twitter feed the team said this week: "Following numerous dealings with youths lighting fires over the weekend at Lochgelly Public Park, we are continuing high visibility patrols in the area. This is extremely reckless behaviour and potentially life threatening. This Needs To Stop."
The action being taken by the team is under the banner of Operation Prevail.
The team have continued to have problems with youngsters setting wheelie bins on fire in Cowdenbeath Community Woodland.
