THIS week's Down Memory Lane selection comes from the Times Gone By file which was compiled by former editor Jack Dougary.

These show a picture of Kelty Primary School, taken in the early 1970s and also a shot taken at the Lochgelly Old People's Welfare Centre, which was created in the late 1960s, out of the town's Miners Welfare Institute.

There is also a picture of the Lochgelly South football team, who were cup winners in the mid 1960s and a shot of Sir James Black, the famous former Beath High School pupil who discovered propranolol which help in the fight against heart disease and his work saw him win the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1988. He is pictured meeting some of his former school mates at Beath.

If you have old pictures you would like to see in Down Memory Lane send them to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take them to the Times Office, 17 Bank Street, Lochgelly, on a Monday or a Friday.
