A TOTAL of 43 new homes could be created in Crossgates if a planning application submitted to Fife Council is given the go-ahead.

Ogilvie Homes want to build the houses with associated access, parking and landscaping on Dunfermline Road.

The proposals include 28 three-bedroomed semi detached properties, seven three bedroomed detached homes and eight four-bedroomed houses.

A statement for planners said the layout brought forward to ensure there would be "no adverse implication" in terms of the privacy and amenity of the established dwellings on the

northern and southern boundaries.

"The layout also makes provision for vehicular and pedestrian access to the site and for the provision of open space and for the associated parking for each dwelling with adequate visitor parking throughout the site," it said.

"Whilst the brownfield site requires to be remediated in order to be fit for purpose, Ogilvie Homes are in a position to bring forward the redevelopment of this centrally located former industrial site in Crossgates.

"The development will deliver a high quality residential development of three and four bedroom family homes."

During the pre-application stage, Fife Council's education services were consulted and they advised that there were "no capacity risks" for schools in the site's catchment areas.
