LOCHGELLY Old People's Reunion Christmas treat 2018 was a huge success, but the organising committee could do with a few more people to help ensure that the event for those 70 plus keeps going for many years.

The treat was held at the Town Hall on Wednesday when over 100 70 plus people had a great afternoon.

However, the Reunion Committee is a small one and as secretary Margaret Blaikie said: "A couple of more people to help out would make all the difference."

Catering was supplied by Mrs Mary Ross, from Cowdenbeath, and a tremendous contribution from the Lochgelly business community helped make the event the success it was.

Their contribution ensures the Christmas treat and summer drives go ahead like clockwork.

The businesses who contributed were West End Bar, A and M Tackle, MM Associates, Body Glo, L and K Vapours, Coral, Tone and Tan, Fife Flowers, Serenity, Perfect Pooches, Torleys, Old Ship, L.O.F.T. A and R Fish Bar, I Candy Hairdressers, Scotbet, Golden Fry, Pins and Needles, John Gilfillan, Special Occasions, Paige Wright Barbers, Shardy's, Minto Lounge, MENS, FFDR, Cat Care Centre, Top Knot, Lochgelly Bowling Club, Lochgelly Golf Club, Mossview At The Opera, Chinese Takeaway, Beauty Spot, Spence Acccountancy, Family Dentist, Shades, Kooner, Regal Rubber, East Hydraulic Services, Charles Laing, RHI, Cafe Auchterderran Road, Rosewell Pharmacy, Eastern Star, Wind Farm, Lodge Minto, OreValley Housing Association, Greggs, and Baynes.

There are also Cowdenbeath shops who contribute namely Stephens, Morrisons, Willie's Taxis, and Hugh Black and Sons Butchers in Lochgelly and Cowdenbeath.

Last but by no means least, the many, many personal friends of Margaret and Sadie all help to swell the number of raffle prizes.
