AS 2018 draws to a close The Benarty Events held their final events of the year at the weekend.

On Friday evening it was The Santa Parade, with the Aviemore reindeer, then on Sunday it was the Christmas Fayre.

The parade made it’s through the villages of Benarty on it’s way to The Benarty Centre starting in Crosshill.

The Benarty public came out in force to to watch the parade pass. All the children received glow sticks to wave at Santa.

At the Centre there was a fun fare for the Benarty kids as well as bouncy castles. Santa’s grotto was busy for the full night with every primary school child receiving a free gift and the Harry Mudini magic show proving a big hit with the children.

On Saturday it was the Christmas Fayre at The Benarty Centre.

“It was great to see the local groups come out in force to support the group and raise funds for their own groups,” said Events Group chairman Eddie Easson

The Benarty Events Group Christmas Raffle was drawn and the winners are listed on the group’s Facebook page.

On Sunday the Community Lottery was drawn in Lochore Institute and there was a Jackpot winner the first in a long time when Ryan Murphy was the lucky entrant to win the £9,700.00 prize.

The Lottery Christmas Raffle was also drawn and the £1,000 winner was Alex Conway.

“ It was great to see the genuine look of happiness on people’s faces when we delivered the cash prizes to the winners,” said vice chairman Kevin Payne.

2018 has been a huge year for The Benarty Events Group with hugely successful events throughout the year. These events have only been possible the fantastic support from the Benarty public. Indeed, this was shown again on Sunday with two fantastic gestures.

One of the recent lottery consolation winners was given his cash prize and he insisted on handing the prize back to the group to continue their great work!

The the Group were presented with a cheque for £554.00 by local darts player David Stein. The money was raised in a darts competition in The Cleikum Inn, Ballingry. This isn’t the first time that Davy has done this for the group.

“The Group would like to thank everyone who has made our events the success they were,” said Eddie Easson.
