WORK on continuing to maintain pressure on the supply of illegal drugs onto the streets of the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area is continuing at a pace.
Community Inspector Gavin Cameron told Cowdenbeath Area Committee: "Whilst the number of drug recoveries and subsequent supply, production, cultivation charges have fallen the number of searches under warrant has remained steady.
"This is an area of policing what we will continue to focus upon and dedicate resources to over the coming months through Operation Prospect."
He added that alcohol misuse is often a contributory factor in crime occurring, particularly crimes of violence and anti social behaviour. Police would continue to work with staff if all types of licensed premises to ensure legislative conditions are being adhered to.
