THIS week's Down Memory Lane pictures come from Ballingry man Bill Hunter's collection.

One of them shows what it used be like down the Mary and Glencraig Collieries at the coal face working the black diamonds.

The other pictures show bits of Lochore Meadows Country Park around 40 odd years ago.

One sees the Mary Colliery pit head sitting by itself in the green fields which had been hewn out of the pit waste long before the first visitor centre was built or the outdoor activities centre.

Another is a winter shot of Lochore Castle on the road heading out of the park and the last picture is of the Lurgi Gasification Plant which was part of the Westfield Opencast project in that it was geared to producing good quality gas from low grade coal.

If you have any old pictures you would like to see in Down Memory Lane send them to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take them to the Times Office, 17 Bank Street, Lochgelly, on a Monday or a Friday.
