THE Crystals Majorette Troupe, in Crossgates, have done their bit for the community this Christmas by collecting foodstuffs which have been donated to the local food bank.

Said their coach, Ashley Booth: "There’s around 20 girls at the moment in the Crystals so it is nice number and they are a very friendly bunch but we are open to new recruits!

"We did a big collection for the food bank and and two representatives dropped these in last midweek.

"The food bank were delighted with the donation and the kids felt very proud of the contributions they made."

The Crystals went to a pantomime as a wee treat for the girls and they will also be doing a fundraising event for the Majorette troupe, maybe bag packing.

Added Ashley: "Some of the girls do competitions and we plan on attending a few of them in 2019, plus taking part in galas in Crossgates, Cowdenbeath, Kelty and Dalgety Bay."
