A SECOND man has been jailed for an attack in a house in Cowdenbeath.

The victim’s home was entered, he had a cable wrapped around his neck and was choked until he lost consciousness.

Scott Wilson, 45, a prisoner at Perth, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on July 16, at Broad Street, while acting with another, he assaulted the victim, pushed him on the body, uttered threats, punched him on the body, wrapped a ligature around his neck and compressed his neck with it, causing him to lose consciousness, repeatedly kicked him on the body and struck him on the head with a speaker, all to his severe injury.

Sheriff Craig McSherry jailed him for 27 months backdated to July 24 when he was taken into custody.

Francis Jarrett, formerly of Broad Street, was previously jailed for three years for his part in the attack.

On that occasion, depute fiscal Cheryl Clark said that Jarrett and his accomplice had entered the victim’s home when he was watching TV.

Jarrett told the victim: “You’re dead”. A wire was pulled out of a stereo unit and then wrapped around the neck of the victim, who fell unconscious.

Despite this, the attack continued and Jarrett was shouting: “I want to kill the b******. I want him dead,” as he kicked the victim, the court was told.

A friend of the victim found him lying on the floor, barely conscious and struggling to speak, with 34 separate injuries including bruises and cuts.
