The funeral of a teen who died suddenly in his sleep will take place on Thursday.

Gregor Scott, 18, a former St Columba's pupil, was tragically found dead by his flat mates on the morning of November 30, which featured on the front page of last week's Press.

His death has been treated as "unexplained".

Gregor's funeral will take place at 10am at Our Lady and St Bride's RC Church in Cowdenbeath.

His mum Catriona, deputy head of Glenrothes High School, told the Press: "Knowing what has happened to him is not going to bring him back.

"We're concentrating on just making sure he gets the send-off he deserves.

"We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received. We are taking comfort in that and are touched."

Gregor had begun his studies in hospitality at Perth College in September.

The prefect pupil was described as a "kind" and "loving man".

His sudden death prompted a close friend to set up a GoFundMe page in his memory, which has raised £3,835.

Dozens of youngsters donated to help aid the cost of his funeral and left messages of love for Gregor who impacted so many people's lives.

Sister Jennifer Scott wrote on Facebook: "Our family would like to thank you all for your kind words and support over the past few days.

"Gregor’s funeral will take place on Thursday 13th December at 10am at Our Lady and St Bride’s RC Church, Stenhouse Street, Cowdenbeath, to which all are welcome.

"You are all then warmly invited to join us in celebrating Gregor’s life afterwards at the Pitbauchlie House Hotel, Aberdour Road, Dunfermline.

"Please wear a touch of green as this was Gregor’s favourite colour.

"Gregor’s friends, and all those who knew and loved him and his family are more than welcome to attend."
