SANTA Benarty has been busy collecting support for the voluntary Fundraisers Group from the local business community.

Wednesday past Santa 'B' received a cheque on behalf of Benarty Fundraisers for £240 from the Co-op in Lochore.

The Lochleven Road shop staff have been a very strong supporter of many of the community events that take place in the four villages, and they even work out rotas to make sure they have staff members to help out with events within Benarty.

Then on Friday Benarty Fundraisers received a cheque for the sum of £303 from the newly opened beauty salon in Crosshill, Mirror Mirror.

They had a Christmas raffle when the shop was first opened and there is no stopping them now for the staff have volunteered to do Splash for Cash on New Years Day!

They will probably deny it now but the Fundraisers have the video footage!

Said the Fundraisers' James Fotheringham: "It was brilliant for these two businesses to donate so much money to our pot which supports local good causes.

"That leads me on to asking any businesses or persons wanting to take part in this year's Splash for Cash on January 1 at Lochore Meadows to please get in touch by calling me on 07801855566 or message Benarty Fundraisers on Facebook.

"We would to thank the Co-op and Mirror Mirror and everyone who supports us.

"We will also have Santa Benarty doing a sleigh ride around Crosshill,Lochore, Ballingry and Glencraig starting on Monday December 17 running throughout the week when a street to street collection will be taken".

Kelty Community Cinema will be showing the Christmas film 'Elf' on Sunday December 16 at Lochore Miners Welfare, admission £2.50, on behalf of the Fundraisers.
