THE new RWM at Lodge Ballingry 1183 is looking forward to taking the organisation through to its centenary in May.

It will be 50 years in 2019 since Robert Glencross, 77, first held the role of RWM at Lodge Ballingry and he is warmly looking forward to the centenary celebrations.

Said Robert: "I was a little surprised to be asked to take on the role in this special year but it is indeed a great honour.

"The centenary celebrations have been set down for May 11 and it will be a busy time but one I am really looking forward to."

He added: "The Lodge hall is in fantastic condition, has been refurbished and is a lovely facility for people in Benarty to use for any purpose.

"I hope that we will have a number of community events during the centenary celebrations and that will also include a special open day."

Robert hopes that he can persuade people to bring along old photographs of the entire Benarty area for a special display to coincide with the centenary event.
