A LOCHGELLY man smashed his partner’s property after becoming jealous about her speaking to other men, a court has heard.

Dylan Flockhart, 21, currently in prison, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on November 7, at an address in Lochgelly, he shouted and swore at his partner, removed a television from a wall, threw it and smashed it, removed a mantelpiece and threw it and behaved aggressively towards her.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said the couple had been going out together for about a month but she formed the opinion that he was “extremely jealous of her being in the company of other males”.

“The accused and a friend had attended at her home and alcohol was consumed. The friend fell asleep and the accused then began to question the complainer about relationships,” continued the depute.

“The friend opened his eyes and winked at her before falling back asleep. The accused became agitated.”

He then began damaging property, including smashing the TV set.

“The complainer started screaming. A neighbour then saw the accused banging on the rear door. The police arrived and they saw him running back into the property.”

The cost of the damage to property was £400.

Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports. Bail was refused and Flockhart will remain in custody until sentencing on December 19.
