THE winner of Lesley Laird MP’s Christmas card competition has visited the printers to see her finished design – and pick up her prize!

The competition sees the winner's design used by the MP for her Christmas greeting cards.

Seraphina Brown (12), an S2 pupil at Lochgelly High School, drew a snowman holding a tiny robin in its hand which caught the eye of the Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath MP.

The talented young LHS artist was delighted to see the finished card during a visit on Friday to Multiprint in Kirkcaldy, where she was also presented with a gift voucher by Lesley.

Amy Ferrier, art teacher (pictured left) said: “Seraphina’s been absolutely over the moon since winning Lesley’s card competition and it couldn’t have happened to a lovelier pupil. She’s been beaming all week.”

Lesley added: “Seraphina’s Christmas card design is wonderful and I’m delighted her snowman will be popping through hundreds of letter boxes this festive season.

“Picking the winner was not easy – we had around 100 entries – and I’d like to thank everyone who took part in the competition. Their efforts were very much appreciated.

“I’d also like to thank North Road Garage, Wee Jimmies and Havelock Europa for their kind sponsorship of the competition this year, and also Multiprint, whose team produced a lovely finished card.”

Runners up Olivia McPherson (Beath High School) and Antonia Robinson (Lochgelly High School) also won gift vouchers.
