THE Benarty Events Group's festive festivities began last week with Christmas lights switch-on.

The Benarty children went to Lochore Institute in their numbers for the event.

The kids were entertained by Harry Mudini, the magician, and they all enjoyed drinks and sweets.

Santa and his Elves put in an appearance to join Young Citizen of the Year, Cooper Davidson, for the big switch-on.

BEG chairman, Eddie Easson, said: “Every year we try to improve on the previous year. This year we have purchased more lights to give Glencraig the Christmas feeling.

"Donations from The Benarty Fund Raisers and the Cowdenbeath Area Committee went a long way to making the Christmas events possible.”

There is a full programme of events that are listed below all paid for by The Benarty Events Group through money raised within the community by the group.

A special Christmas thank-you went out to all the people that take part in the BEG weekly lottery. The running pot at the moment stands at a fantastic £9,600 which could make a fantastic Christmas for someone.
