A CARDENDEN man caused a drunken disturbance at the home of his former partner and smashed a window.

James Gay, 27, of Craigside Road, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on November 19, in Craigside Road, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by attending at the home of his former partner, repeatedly striking the door and attempt to gain entry, shouted, punched and struck a window, causing damage to it and knocked over a bin.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said the couple had previously been in relationship but split up in June.

They both live in the same street and on the night of the offence, Gay had phoned his former partner and later attended at her house, banging on the doors which led to a window being broken.

He was shouting, “Let me in” but was told to leave.

The cost of the repair the damage was estimated at £200.

Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said: “He had consumed alcohol and cannot remember what happened. He’s embarrassed about his actions.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry deferred sentence until February 20 for him to be of good behaviour and to save money for the repairs.
