THE Cardenden Community Bonfire was a great night but councillors heard that there had been one incident reported which caused concern.

Cowdenbeath Area Committee heard on Wednesday that the event held at Wallsgreen Park, last Friday night, had been a big success albeit there had been a situation developed where a boy had been attacked.

Vice chair, Councillor Rosemary Liewald, said: "There had been threats conveyed about possible incidents planned by groups at Wallsgreen but on the night the display was excellent with a big crowd although I believe there was an incident which occurred which our police team dealt with well."

A teenager was attacked by a group of youths at a bus stop and injured and required hospital treatment.

Committee chair, Councillor Linda Erskine, said the bonfire night had gone well at the park with all the agencies working together, but she was concerned about the incident mentioned.
