THE villages of the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area have always been strong supporters of Remembrance Sunday and on this special day there were superb turn outs.
The service in Lumphinnans was attended by around 30 people and was conducted by Rev Margaret Mateos.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of Fife Council, the village Community Council,Veterans, the Lumphinnans Community School, the Bowling Club and Beath/Cowdenbeath North Church. The community council thanked everyone who attended.
In Benarty the service was held at Lochore Bowling Club before the parade headed to the war memorial in Lochleven Road.
There a host of wreaths were laid by a number of organisations and individuals. Earlier in the day poppy crosses were laid at war graves in Ballingry Cemetery
In Crossgates services were held at Mossgreen and the community centre and there was a good turn out at the Hill of Beath memorial.
Kelty saw a massive turn out at the newly upgraded memorial and there was all age groups taking part. Later in the day there was a service at the Lassodie memorial.
