CARDENDEN'S Community Bonfire and Fireworks Display went fantastically well on Friday night.
Despite some concerns about the weather deteriorating as the day went on it was still dry when the bonfire started at around 7pm and it stayed fair until after 8pm.
It all meant a really good turn out of fun seekers turned up at Wallsgreen Park to see the bonfire lit by local councillors and some tremendous fireworks.
Said Alex Burns, chairman of the Bonfire Committee: "The weather turned out OK despite the forecast of rain and everyone had a great time.
"There were a big number of families at Wallsgreen Park to see the excellent display that went ahead and the contribution made to our collection buckets was excellent.
"There were also added attractions including fairground rides and the food vendors were very busy".
This year's event cost the Cardenden Community Bonfire Committee in the region of £7,000 to run which was a drain on their finances so they were delighted with the contributions made.
People of all ages flocked to Wallsgreen for the event and they were delighted to see a superb range of fireworks hit the Bowhill sky.
Added Mr Burns: "It was a great night and we thank everyone who came along and made a contribution to the collection."
