THE hard work of the Lochgelly Christmas Tree Lights Group will be rewarded on Wednesday week (November 21), when the festive feel returns to the town.

The switch-on will take place at 6pm by the Citizens of the Year, the Zodiac Dance School and Junior Citizen of the Year Ava Stark.

Before the switch-on there will be a carol service with music from Lochgelly High School's wind and pipe bands.

The fun will continue at the town hall shortly after and between 6.30pm and 7.30pm Mr and Mrs Claus will be there to meet the children.

There will also be a host of stalls where people can pick up a Christmas bargain.

The Christmas Lights Group had to raise £7,000 to ensure the town has its normal very festive look and although it took a lot of work the volunteers are delighted.

Said one of the members Helen Ross: "We are delighted to he able to say that we have made our target although it has taken a bit of phoning around to persuade sponsors to back us.

"We are looking for a great night on Wednesday 21st and a great Christmas in Lochgelly."
