CARDENDEN'S Community Bonfire and Fireworks Display goes on this Friday and the organisers are appealing to the public to generously support the event by making donations to the collection points.
The 2018 Community Fireworks Display goes on at Wallsgreen Park, Bowhill, starting at 7pm when local councillors will be in attendance to light the bonfire.
Said Alex Burns, chairman of the Bonfire Committee: "We hope that a big number of families and individuals will come along on Friday night to Wallsgreen Park to see the excellent display that is planned.
"There will also be added attractions including fairground rides and food vendors.
"This year's event will cost our organising committee in the region of £7,000 to run which will be a drain on our finances so we would again appeal to everyone attending to make a contribution to the bucket collection, as every little bit helps."
People are reminded that no persons are allowed to take along fireworks or sparklers to the event. Admission is by donation.
