A CANADIAN is searching for relatives in the Lochgelly area of his grandfather.

Jim Bain, from Penticon, British Columbia, contacted the Times in the hope that he can get some help with his search.

Said Jim: "My grandfather was born in Lochgelly April 1, 1895.

"He fought as a soldier in the Great War, worked the coal mines in Fife and after the war emigrated to Canada. His name was Alexander Bain.

"I am planning another trip to Scotland in the spring and wonder if any of his relatives will still be in Fife.

"His father was also named Alexander Bain, and he also moved to Canada, dying there in 1926 or thereabouts.

"If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it immensely."

If anyone can help Jim contact the Times at editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk
