A NEW service to provide health and work support is now available across the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area to help people who have a health issue, condition or disability, that is affecting their work.

Health & Work Support is the new easy way to access advice and guidance for anyone who needs help to stay in, or get back into work, if they have a health condition, health issue or disability.

It is also available to support employers with general guidance or specific advice on a whole range of health and work issues.

The service is secure and confidential and the support is tailored to the individual.

Support co-ordinator, Paula Donaldson, met this week with Kelty based Mid Scotland and Fife MSP, Alex Rowley, to explain the project and said: “To get the help that people need quickly and easily we have a Freephone number and you can also find us online.

Our number is 08000192211 and access through our website is available at healthandworksupport.scot. Whichever way people get in touch they will be put in contact with a healthcare professional who will provide personalised advice, tailored to the individual’s needs”.

Alex Rowley said: “I very much welcome this new initiative which will be of great use to people who work for smaller employers or are self-employed and do not have access to occupational health services through their employer.

"The project is being funded through NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government and is in response to a recognised need or gap for many workers”.

People can get in touch for free by calling 08000192211 or going to www.healthandworksupport.scot
