A BRAND new business venture has been established in Crosshill and the opening ceremony saw someone involved who knows all about the shop.

Claire Small and Marie McFarlane have opened the Mirror Mirror Hair and Beauty Salon, at 121 Main Street, in the village.

They held an open day on Sunday to mark the official opening and asked Mrs Bernadette McGuire to carry out the ceremony.

They could not have asked anyone with more knowledge of the site of their business.

Bernadette explained that 50 years ago she had opened a paint and paper supplier's business at 121 Main Street and on her retiral her son Terry took it over.

Before she cut the tape Bernadette said: "I am delighted to be asked to carry out this opening ceremony and I wish Mirror Mirror as much success as I had in the premises and more."

Claire and Marie are delighted to be able to open their business in the shop, which offers top quality hairdressing and quality beauty advice and treatment.

The shop is on the busy village Main Street and will attract customers from all over Benarty and from outwith the immediate area.

Sunday's open day also saw a visit from, the new Benarty Fundraisers' mascot, Bing the Bear, and he was a big hit with the many youngsters who were at the open day!
