COWENBEATH MSP Annabelle Ewing has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament congratulating ten schools in her constituency who have received School Sport Awards from SportScotland, five of them at the Gold Award level.
The schools include Crossgates, St Patrick's RC and Beath High School on achieving the gold award level; and further congratulates Foulford, Hill of Beath and Kelty primary schools for receiving silver awards.
Speaking on Monday, Ms Ewing said: “These SportScotland awards are a great accolade for staff and pupils’ commitment to sport and I am delighted that ten schools in my constituency have been recognised this year, five of them at the Gold Award level.
“In congratulating them for their achievements I want to thank the staff concerned for the work they do in continuously seeking to improve the provision of PE and sport in schools and for their contribution to improving the health of our young people.
“I would encourage as many schools as possible to take part in this scheme and look forward to even more schools in my constituency being named in next year’s awards.”
