THE big Christmas Lights switch on in Cowdenbeath will take place on Friday November 30.

On the 30th Santa Comes to town and the lights switch-on will take place at special ceremony held at the new look “Community Square" (opposite Partners Bar) on the High Street.

The Civic Week Committee's Claire Morgan reported: "Things will start between 5pm and 5.15pm on the 30th when the entertainment will get underway.

"Between 5.15pm and 6.30pm we are delighted to welcome Little Fix, who were voted the UKs No1 tribute act in 2017, back to entertain everyone at the Lights Switch-on

"At 6.30pm Santa will travel down the full length of Broad Street on his sleigh and we’ve even heard he may have some sweeties for anyone who gives him a wave en route. He will disembark on the High Street at the “Community Square” opposite Partners Bar to take part in switching on the Christmas lights."

The lights switch-on takes place at 6.35pm and the entertainment continues to 7pm.

On Saturday December 1 there will be a double event at Beath High School, the Christmas Fair between 1pm and 4pm and also the children's Christmas Party between 2pm and 4pm. More on these next week.
