THIS week's Down Memory Lane selection of pictures comes from former Lochgelly man Harry Smyth.

Harry was brought up in the Small Street area of the town but left for Rochdale in Lancashire around 40 years ago.

The pictures he has sent show a cracking shot of the top end of Bank Street at the junction of Francis Street when Lochgelly Equitable Co-operative Society had large premises there. Then there is an historic shot as Lochgelly was about to see its last petrol station go. Harry thinks he took that one himself in 2002 when on holiday.

Then there is two much older pictures which he came across taken in Plantation Street about 60 or 70 years ago and one of the railway station from the early 1960s.

If you have any old photographs you would like to see in Down Memory Lane send them to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take them to the Times Office, Bank Street, Lochgelly, on a Monday or a Friday.
