A DRIVER of a vehicle involved in an accident on the Kinglassie-Cardenden road claimed before a Sheriff that a vehicle coming towards him crossed the central line in the road.
Mark Taylor, 45, of Kirkcaldy, denied driving dangerously on the B921 on August 4 2016 by crossing the opposite carriageway when it was unsafe to do so, colliding with other cars and causing damage to them and causing injury to himself, Adam Fernie, Chelsea Muldoon and a seven year-old girl.
The trial at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court had previously heard that the accident occurred as accused was driving his daughter and step-daughter to a doctor's appointment in Ballingry.
Giving evidence Mark Taylor said he saw a Jaguar coming round the sharp bend before it clipped his car with 'an almighty bang'.
However, the fiscal depute claimed that his description of the accident did not match that of other witnesses, although Taylor's defence agent said there was not enough evidence to be satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that his client was guilty of the charge.
Sheriff James MacDonald will give his verdict in November.
