A RELATIONSHIP break-up and a dispute over a shared dog led to one Cowdenbeath woman making threats to stab her former partner and his mother.

Abbeigh Harris, 24, of Lochgelly Road, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

She had previously admitted that on September 25 at a house in Lochgelly Road, she behaved in a threatening manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm by making a phone call to her former partner, during which she shouted, swore, acted in an aggressive manner and uttered threats of violence towards him.

She also attended at his home address whilst uninvited and kicked a door.

Depute fiscal, Rebecca Clark, said Harris had separated from her former partner weeks before the incident after being in a relationship for around a year and there was an "ongoing dispute" about the custody of a shared dog.

She phoned the former partner, shouting, swearing and making threats which included, "I am going to come round and smash you and your mum," and "I am going to stab you and your mum."

Police attended at the partner's house later that day and, while they werethere, Harris turned up outside and began kicking at the front door.

Defence solicitor, Rosni Joshi, said her client accepted she had behaved in the manner described and took responsibility for it.

"As far as the circumstances are concerned, the relationship came to an end shortly prior to the commission of this offence and there had been a dispute over the ownership of a shared dog," she added.

Sheriff Charles Macnair placed Harris on a community payback order requiring her to do 101 hours of unpaid work within six months.

"You threatening to stab is a matter of very considerable concern to the Court," he told her. "You are on a community payback order with supervision and I hope that the achieves your stopping of offending but I am not prepared to just defer sentence in this respect."
