A 45-YEAR-OLD woman stole items worth £110 from a store in Cowdenbeath High Street.

It was just the latest in a string of shoplifting incidents to land Joan Meiklejohn in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Meiklejohn, of Lumphinnans Road, Lochgelly, admitted that on March 20, at Boots the chemist, High Street, Cowdenbeath, she stole a quantity of electrical goods.

The court was told the stolen goods were valued at £110 and there was no recovery.

Meiklejohn, appearing from custody, is currently subject to a drug treatment and testing order for five similar offences and was also jailed in August for theft.

Defence solicitor David Bell said: “She’s feeling much better for being out of circulation for a period. She wants to start afresh and come out drugs-free.”

Sentence was deferred until November 23.
