FORMER Scotland skipper Barry Ferguson has signed on the dotted line as the Kelty Hearts boss, replacing Thomas Courts, and visited New Central Park last night to have a look around.

The former Clyde manager was impressed with the facilities and is looking forward to taking over the reigns at Hearts next week.

Coaches Murray McDowell and Dave McNeely will take the team to Peterhead on Saturday for the club's William Hill Scottish Cup second round tie with one of the League 2 pace setters.

The club's players are looking forward to working with Barry and experienced striker Scott Dalziel is aware of the buzz about the club through the move.

He said: "We had heard a few whispers he was going to get the job but we really did not think it was going to happen. Now the boys are buzzing it has been announced."

The Ferguson reign will begin with a home game against Gala Fairydean Rovers on Saturday October 27.
