LOCHGELLY couple Margaret and Ronnie Graham had a special diamond celebration this week.

It was a case of sweet sixty for the couple as they marked their wedding anniversary with a short break and now have a family party to look forward to.

The pair, of Westwater Street, initially met at a party in Cowdenbeath and then caught up two weeks later when they were both "at the dancing" at the town's popular Palais.

They married three years later, on October 4, at St Kenneth's Church in Crosshill.

Ronnie, 82, started out working at Burntisland Shipyard and later becoming a welder, a job which he did at the Open Cast at Mossmorran until his retirement. Margaret, 80, started her working life in the paper factory in Leslie and then went onto work with electronics companies at the Hillend Industrial Estate.

The couple have two children, Michael and Pamela, and three grandchildren.

When asked what the secret of such a long and happy marriage was, Margaret said the answer was a simple one.

"It is just give and take with one another," she said. "It is going out together and not going to sleep on an argument."
