A COWDENBEATH man has continued offending despite being on a drug treatment and testing order for the past two years.
Serial shoplifter Kenneth McKean, of Dalbeath Crescent, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for two offences committed within five days of each other.
McKean, 42, admitted that on September 23 at the Co-op store, Dalbeath Crescent, he stole a quantity of coffee.
Then on September 28 at Debenhams, Kingsgate Centre, Dunfermline, he stole a bracelet.
The court was told that McKean was on a drug treatment and testing order but after quitting heroin he had switched to misusing valium.
Sheriff Charles MacNair pointed out that since being placed on the DTTO in September 2016, McKean had committed 10 shoplifting offences.
“That’s not very good, is it?” he added.
Sentence was deferred until October 10 as McKean has other offences being dealt with on that day.
Bail was refused and McKean will remain behind bars until sentencing.
